In the face of a pandemic, it is pretty clear that everyone's facing a workforce challenge. This is why credentialing, privileging, and onboarding providers as rapidly as possible is critical and organizations should be prepared to meet those demands without burnout.

One major result of the pandemic is that credentialing and licensure processes look very different now than they did before COVID-19 hit. Another major shift in care delivery has been the rapid rise in existing telehealth operations and deployment of new or expanded ones.

In this article, Vicki Searcy, Vice President of Consulting at VerityStream, and Todd Sagin, President and national Medical Director at Sagin Healthcare Consulting, discuss:

  • Converging challenges the pandemic has introduced into the credentialing and privileging processes
  • New regulations and and requirements that have been put in place to support healthcare organizations during a healthcare emergency
  • Solutions that address the challenges, adhere to the new regulations, and automate the credentialing and privileging processes to mitigate negative impacts from a pandemic
